These terms govern your use of the Hola Means Hola website, mobile apps, and downloadable dictionaries. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
What Hola Means Hola provides
Hola Means Hola is a Spanish-learning reference and reading tool. It provides dictionary entries, definitions, examples, translations, search, audio, study progress, and downloadable content. The service is offered for personal, non-commercial learning and reference.
You don't need an account to use the service. Some features need an internet connection, while supported dictionary content can be used offline after it has been included with or downloaded by an app.
Educational content
Language is contextual and continually changing. I work to make the dictionary accurate and useful, but I can't promise that every definition, example, translation, pronunciation, rank, form, or search result is complete or error-free. Hola Means Hola is an educational aid, not professional, legal, medical, or other specialist advice.
Using the service fairly
You may use the service and its normal export or download features for your own learning. You may not misuse the service, interfere with its operation or security, bypass access controls, submit unlawful or harmful material, impersonate someone else, or use automated means to scrape, reproduce, or redistribute substantial portions of the dictionary, audio, website, or apps.
Content and intellectual property
Hola Means Hola and its original software, design, branding, editorial material, and compiled content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms give you permission to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of it to you.
Some vocabulary data, fonts, software libraries, and other materials come from third parties under their own licenses. Those licenses continue to apply to the relevant material.
Reports and feedback
If you send an entry report, correction, suggestion, or other feedback, you give me permission to use it without restriction or payment to operate and improve Hola Means Hola. Please submit only material you have the right to share, and don't include sensitive personal information in optional notes.
Third-party services
The service relies on platforms and providers such as Apple, Google, hosting, content-delivery, and database services. Their own terms and policies may apply when you use their products. I am not responsible for third-party services or for content on sites reached through external links.
Availability and changes
I may fix, update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features or content. I aim to keep the service available, but I don't guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent availability of a particular entry or feature, or compatibility with every device.
Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights, warranties, or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains what information the service collects and how it is handled.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms as the service changes. If an update is meaningful, I'll change the effective date above. Your continued use after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms.
